The portion of Scripture is found in John 14:6-11. These past two weeks we have been Unwrapping Christmas to see the real meaning behind all of the presents, lights, and holiday traditions. We have studied Luke 2:8-14 and have seen that we are important to God, and our faith matters to God. Also, that Jesus came to give us purpose, forgiveness and peace!! Only through Jesus Christ can you find real meaning and purpose for your life!
Today with reading John 14:6-11, we truly see who Christ is. Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life. Only through Him will your life be changed. Don't allow this Christmas season to just be another year where you are just left with empty boxes and torn wrapping paper. Jesus Christ can come in and change your life.... I know people are searching for something real- and let me tell you HE IS. This is not just a catch phrase or just a bunch of religion. I am talking about life change!
In John 14, we see the deity of Jesus Christ! That He is Lord!! Also, we see God's plan and that is to save us. Matthew 1:21 says; "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Isaiah 9:6&7; "For to us a child is born,to us a son is given,and the government will be on his shoulders.And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
Jesus tells us in John 10:10 “I came that they might have life, and have it to the full.” Abundant life can be yours!!! The greatest need that we have is a human being is to believe that our life counted for something. Life’s abundance is measured not with things, but with character, with hope and trust. It takes the worst things in life to come our way to appreciate this. And when they do we need to say, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
What is holding you back from receiving everything that Christ has for you? Lastly we see that Jesus is the answer!! Christmas is our answer to life; Jesus is the answer to life, to death; to the past, to the future; from our beginning to our end! With the birth of Christ came hope, and freedom.
Not everyone has the same question and circumstances in his or her heart this morning, but regardless of the question, the answer will always be the same.
The question is..Who is Jesus to you? Have you met Him? Do you truly know Him? Has Christmas become a little clearer to you? Have you unwrapped it?
One day every single human being will answer that question. Some of us have been side tracked by other questions that we are seeking answers for.
We are asking God why He did not save the one we loved from death. Why things have happened in our lives that we don’t understand…. But the ultimate question is do you know God- because we are all accountable for that.
Unwrap everything that God has for you today!!! He has so much …. Today is just the beginning for more things he has in store for your life.
Do you believe God has great things in store for your life?!?!?!!? That’s what is heavy on my heart……… bc I think some of us if we are honest might say no…… God wants you to know He has GREAT THINGS in store for your life!!!!
Jesus came to that we may have true everlasting life- that is what Christmas is all about!!
